About
Hello, I’m Andrew.

I’m a photographer based in Edinburgh, working across theatre, performing arts, music, events as well as doing corporate work for private and third-sector clients across Scotland.
I specialise in theatre and music, with a particular soft spot for classical.
Whether you need a strong image for your press release, fresh headshots for your website, or someone to capture your event in one of Scotland’s stunning venues, I can help. For portraits and publicity, I can shoot in my own Edinburgh studio or find the right location, and bring in make-up, styling and assistants when the job calls for them.
August in Edinburgh is all about the festivals, when the city transforms into a living exhibition of creativity. Each year, I photograph posters, production stills and press calls for all sorts of clients, from tiny one-person productions to the year's must-see musical at the Pleasance Grand, and average 12,000 steps a day. You’ll see my work regularly in August across billboards, programmes and the papers.
Silent capture is available for performance and behind-the-scenes work, and there are preferential rates for student events and productions.
Every job is low-carbon. I travel by public transport or in my own zero-emission vehicle, and post-production runs on 100% renewable electricity.
Working with me
How quickly will I get the photos?
Usually within 72 hours. On-site editing or a faster turnaround can be arranged.
How are they delivered?
In a private online gallery, sized for print, web and social, ready to download and share.
What does it cost?
Most jobs are quoted per project, depending on scope, travel and any extra crew. Events are charged hourly, or for multi-day events a project fee can be agreed. I offer preferential rates for student events and productions.
Do you work outside Edinburgh?
Yes, across the UK. I travel by public transport or in my own zero-emission vehicle.
What do you need from me?
A date, a venue and what the pictures are for. For performances, a running order or a dress rehearsal slot helps.
How soon will you reply?
Within 24 hours. If it’s urgent, phone calls are the best way to get my attention.
Kind words
“The quality of his photography speaks for itself and whether he is executing a brief, putting a subject at ease or dealing with spontaneous situations, Andrew excels.”
